Morehead State gets 3 in double figures, uses rebounding edge to beat Eastern Illinois 65-50

Morehead State had three players score in double figures and the Eagles used their rebounding advantage to beat Eastern Illinois 65-50 Saturday night in Ohio Valley Conference play.
Morehead State (8-8, 2-0), which led 26-17 at halftime, got 11 points apiece from starters Drew Kelly and Angelo Warner, and also from Maurice Lewis-Briggs off the bench.
Eastern Illinois, which remained winless in conference play (3-13, 0-3), also had three players finish in double figures. Sherman Blanford led the Panthers with 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor. Josh Piper pitched in 13 points and Taylor Jones added 11 more.

But Eastern Illinois couldn't overcome Morehead State's superior rebounding, foul shooting and depth.
The Panthers were 7 for 11 at the line, the Eagles 14 for 23.
Morehead State had a 36-21 rebounding edge, including 15 offensive boards. Also, the Eagles' bench outscored Eastern Illinois' 20-2.
