Mississippi receiver Laquon Treadwell is out for the season after breaking his left fibula and dislocated his ankle in the No. 7 Rebels' 35-31 loss to No. 4 Auburn on Saturday night.
Ole Miss spokesman Kyle Campbell confirmed the extent of the injury and said Treadwell had surgery late Saturday night.
The 6-foot-2, 229-pound sophomore was injured trying to score the go-ahead touchdown in the final minutes of the game. The play was initially ruled a touchdown, but it was overturned after replays showed he fumbled just short of the goal line. Auburn recovered the fumble.
