New York Mets recalled shortstop Ruben Tejada from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Tejada hasn't been with the Mets since going on the disabled list May 30 with a right quad strain. After being activated from the DL, he was optioned to Las Vegas.
In 50 games with the big league club, he hit just .209 with 10 RBI.

The Mets also announced that reliever Scott Rice underwent sports hernia surgery on Tuesday. The procedure was performed by Dr. Bill Meyers in Philadelphia.
Rice was placed on the 60-day disabled list earlier this month with the injury.
Rice earned a spot on the team out of spring training as a 31-year-old rookie and pitched in a team-high 73 games, posting a 4-5 record with a 3.71 ERA.
