Men's doubles final set at U.S. Open

Sixth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and seeded duo of Austrian Jurgen Melzer and German Philipp Petzschner in Saturday night's men's doubles final at the 2011 U.S. Open.

Fyrstenberg-Matkowksi ousted fifth seeds Rohan Bopanna of India and Aisam-Ul- Haq Qureshi of Pakistan 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), while Melzer-Petzschner held off an unseeded tandem of Italians Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini 6-4, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1 in Friday's semifinals at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Melzer and Petzschner captured last year's men's doubles championship at Wimbledon.

Earlier Friday, Bopanna-Qureshi had to complete a 7-5, 2-6, 7-5 quarterfinal victory over Britain's Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins. Bopanna and Qureshi were last year's U.S. Open runners-up to Americans Bob and Mike Bryan, who lost in the opening round here last week.

Saturday's winning team will split $420,000.
