Louis van Gaal's career at Manchester United appears to be nearing the end after two turbulent years.

Van Gaal arrived at United's training ground on Monday amid reports that he was going to be fired.

The 64-year-old Van Gaal had already told reporters on Sunday "it's over" — without expanding.

Although Van Gaal delivered United's first trophy since Alex Ferguson retired by winning the FA Cup on Saturday, a fifth-place Premier League finish meant the team missed out on Champions League qualification.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is expected to replace Van Gaal.
