Over the past month, the LA Galaxy got used to life without Jaime Penedo. Now they'll have to get by without him for good.

The Galaxy and Penedo have mutually agreed to terminate the goalkeeper's contract, with the 33-year-old placed on waivers Wednesday.

Penedo, who joined the Galaxy in August 2013, had missed the past four MLS matches while playing for Panama at the Gold Cup. He started 54 matches over three MLS seasons and was in net last fall for all five playoff games as the Galaxy claimed their fifth MLS Cup title.

The Panama international had started 16 matches in 2015 for the Galaxy (9-7-7), posting five shutouts.
