Lions LB DeAndre Levy won't play Week 1 vs. Chargers

The Detroit Lions will be without one of their key defenders against the San Diego Chargers, as outside linebacker DeAndre Levy is inactive with a hip injury. Tori Petry of DetroitLions.com has the full list of players who will not participate in today's action, including starting right tackle LaAdrian Waddle (knee).

Levy's status is not surprising. There wasn't much optimism about him playing this week, so Josh Bynes has prepared as the starter at weak-side linebacker.

On offense, Cornelius Lucas will start in place of the injured Waddle at right tackle.
