Lima's double helps Benfica top Academica

Lisbon, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Lima netted a pair of goals inside the opening 30 minutes on Sunday as Benfica maintained its top spot in the Portuguese Liga with a 3-0 victory over Academica at the Estadio da Luz.

The home side got off the mark quickly on Sunday as Lima opened the scoring after just 11 minutes and he completed his double two minutes before the half- hour mark for a quick two-goal lead.

Benfica kept the pressure up in the second half and put the result away in the 59th minute when Enzo Perez fired one home. Academica sent numbers forward in the final half hour, but were unable to break down the Benfica back line.

The result sees Benfica maintain its top spot in the table with 61 points from 24 matches, while Academica stays in 10th place with 29 points.

Also in Portugal on Sunday, Mario Rondon and Federico Dionisi swapped goals as Olhanense and Nacional played to a 1-1 draw, while Bebe scored a pair of second-half goals for Pacos Ferreira in a 3-1 result against Arouca.

In Sunday's final fixture, Juan Quintero netted the only goal of the match as FC Porto earned a 1-0 win over 10-man Belenenses.

On Saturday, Adrien Silva, William Carvalho and Cafe scored as Sporting Lisbon claimed a 3-1 win over Maritimo, while Guimaraes and Gil Vicente played to a scoreless draw.

Friday's action saw Marcelo and Raul Rusescu trade goals in a 1-1 draw between Rio Ave and Braga, while Monday's tilt saw Setubal and Estoril play to a 1-1 stalemate.
