Lima propels Benfica past Setubal

Lisbon, Portugal (SportsNetwork.com) - Lima scored a goal in each half to lead Benfica to a 3-0 win over Setubal, allowing the club to maintain its four- point advantage over second-place FC Porto.

Porto's 1-0 win over Guimaraes on Friday thanks to a Yacine Brahimi goal reduced the deficit to just one point at the top of the table.

But Benfica saw off Setubal with relative ease on Sunday as Jardel scored in the opening 10 minutes to hand his side the early lead.

Lima doubled the advantage five minutes before halftime with his first goal of the fixture, and he found the net again in the 71st to give him nine goals on the campaign and secure three points for his team.

Sporting Lisbon dropped five points behind Porto after being held to a 1-1 draw at Belenenses in a game that saw Sporting fall a goal behind in the 68th before an 83rd-minute red card to Cedric Soares, leaving Sporting with 10 men.

However, Carlos Mane rescued a point for his team by scoring in stoppage time to salvage a second successive draw.

Braga climbed to within four points of Sporting thanks to a 2-0 win over Arouca that saw Ze Luis score in the first half and Eder double the lead six minutes from time after Tinoco was sent off on the hour mark for Arouca.

Maritimo came from 2-0 down in the 18th minute to score four unanswered goals and claim a 4-3 win at Penafiel, while a 68th-minute goal from Simmy handed Gil Vicente a 1-0 win over Pacos Ferreira.

Rio Ave and Moreirense traded first-half goals in a 1-1 draw, Academica and Boavista battled to a 0-0 stalemate and 10-man Nacional edged Estoril, 1-0, thanks to an 82nd-minute goal from Lucas Joao.
