Lawler vs. Condit rescheduled to headline UFC 195 on Jan. 2

The welterweight title will be on the line at UFC 195 when Robbie Lawler meets Carlos Condit in the new main event announced for the Jan. 2 card in Las Vegas.
The fight originally was scheduled for UFC 193 on Nov. 15 in Australia, but Lawler suffered a thumb injury while training and it forced the UFC to reschedule the bout. Ronda Rousey's title fight vs. Holly Holm was moved up from UFC 195 to take its place.
Luckily, Lawler's hand injury wasn't too severe nor did it require surgery, so the UFC was able to slot his fight with Condit in place of Rousey-Holm at UFC 195.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Lawler will return to action following his first title defense, in which he finished Rory MacDonald in the fifth round at UFC 189 in July.
As for Condit, he will battle for the UFC welterweight title for the third time in his career. He won the interim belt by beating Nick Diaz in 2012, but then lost in an effort to dethrone Georges St-Pierre in the welterweight title unification bout later that year. Now Condit will try to win the belt by facing a fellow striker in Lawler.
More fights will be added to UFC 195 in the coming weeks.
