Kasey Kahne reveals biggest surprise of parenthood

Since becoming a first-time father back in October, Kasey Kahne has been learning the ropes of parenthood.
So far, so good for the Hendrick Motorsports driver whose girlfriend, Sam, gave birth to a son, Tanner.
In fact, you might even say that Kahne's biggest parenting surprise has been the lack of surprises.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"It's just, I think, how quickly you learn it," he said on the recent Sprint Cup Series pre-season media tour. "How quickly you learn the things that are thrown at you. You don't really know what you're getting into. At first it's like, 'Man, can I do this? Do I need to know anything?' You just learn it.
"It just happens and you get better at it, and I understand what Tanner's looking for, what he wants, the things that make him happy or not. It's just a process, and it's been great."
One of the aspects of parenting that Kahne has enjoyed the most is watching his son develop.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"From changing diapers, feeding, smiling, starting to teethe, it's just something new every week," he said. "It's a cool process and it's been a very simple process to learn and understand."
