Joey Hand gives Chip Ganassi Racing its first Tudor US Sports Car pole of year

Joey Hand gave Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates its first Tudor United Sports Car Championship pole of the season, running a lap at 125.140 mph on Saturday at Road America in the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase.

Hand also earned his first pole, topping the field in the No. 01 Ford EcoBoost Prototype that he shares with Scott Pruett. Christian Fittipaldi was second at 124.533 mph in the No. 5 Corvette DP on the 14-turn, 4.048-mile circuit.

James French led the Prototype Challenge class at 121.787.

A pair of Porsches claimed the top starting spots in the GT Le Mans and GT Daytona classes.

Earl Bamber had a 119.074 in a Porsche 911 RSR to win the GTLM pole, and Patrick Lindsey ran 112.644 in a 911 GT America to take the GTD pole.
