Jets' Kane suspended 2 games for boarding

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane was suspended two games without pay Monday by the National Hockey League for a boarding incident that occurred Sunday.
Kane was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for checking Ducks defenseman Clayton Stoner from behind with 11 seconds remaining in the second period of Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to Anaheim.
Kane will also forfeit $56,451.62 of his salary to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

In other Jets news, forward Patrice Cormier was recalled from St. John's (AHL) and defenseman Grant Clitsome was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.
