Jankovic eases into Bogota semis

Former top-ranked star Jelena Jankovic was an easy quarterfinal winner Friday at the Copa Claro Colsanitas tennis event.
The top seed from Serbia and former U.S. Open runner-up blew past Romanian Alexandra Cadantu 6-2, 6-1 in 73 minutes on the red clay at Centro de Alto Rendimiento.
Jankovic's semifinal opponent on Saturday will be Italian Karin Knapp, who took out defending Bogota champion Lara Arruabarrena-Vecino 6-3, 6-3.

The Spanish Arruabarrena-Vecino beat Russian Alexandra Panova in last year's Bogota finale.
In some other quarterfinal play, Argentine Paula Ormaechea doused Spaniard Maria-Teresa Torro-Flor 6-1, 7-5 and Brazilian qualifier Teliana Pereira leveled Luxembourg's Mandy Minella 6-1, 6-2. Ormaechea and Pereira will square off in the other semi.
The newest Bogota champion will earn $40,000.
