Uniondale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Islanders have placed goaltender Evgeni Nabokov on injured reserve because of a groin injury.
Nabokov was hurt during Saturday's game against the Detroit Red Wings. A timetable for his return was not revealed, but Islanders coach Jack Capuano on Saturday indicated it could be a "couple of weeks."
The 38-year-old veteran is 5-5-3 with a 3.30 goals-against average and an .892 save percentage in 14 games this season.
