Hewitt moves on in Atlanta
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Lleyton Hewitt came away victorious during Tuesday's first-round action at the BB&T Atlanta Open.
The seventh-seeded Aussie Hewitt made short work of French opponent Edouard Roger-Vasselin, posting a 6-4, 6-4 decision which failed to break the 90- minute mark.
Hewitt will next take on American and Monday first-round winner Rhyne Williams.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Fish opened up play on Georgia clay by facing fellow American Michael Russell. Russell won the set 6-4 and was behind 2-4 when rain halted play for the night. That match, along with the scheduled first-round encounter between James Blake and Tim Smyczek will be contested Wednesday.
Also Tuesday, Colombian Santiago Giraldo took care of Jack Sock with a 7-5, 6-4 victory earlier in the day.
Other winners on Day 2 were Denis Istomin, who dumped Lukas Lacko 6-1, 6-3, and moves on to face fifth seed Yen-Hsun Lu, a 6-3, 7-5 winner against American qualifier Kevin King.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis gutted out a 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 7-6 (10-8) decision against German qualifier Mischa Zverev, and his reward is a matchup against rested Croatian Ivan Dodig, who received an opening-round bye.
Eighth seed Evgeny Donskoy of Russia dispatched American Rajeev Ram, 6-3, 6-4, in just 75 minutes.
