Hertha Berlin extends unbeaten run with Paderborn win

Berlin, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Hertha Berlin extended their unbeaten run in league play to five straight matches on Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Paderborn at the Olympic Stadium.

Coming off a 1-0 win against Hamburg last time out, the capital club went in search of a second straight three-point effort, but scoring chances were few and far between during a scoreless first 45 minutes.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the 68th minute with a goal from Valentin Stocker and then doubled the lead two minutes from time when Nico Schulz found the back of the net.

Paderborn sent numbers forward late on, but could not get anything past Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Thomas Kraft and remain second from the bottom with 24 points through 27 matches played.

Hertha Berlin jumps up to 11th place with the victory on 32 points.

Also in the Bundesliga on Sunday, Schalke and Augsburg settled for a share of the spoils in a scoreless draw.
