Granlund gets first NHL goal, Ortio picks up first win as Flames beat Senators, 4-1

Markus Granlund scored his first NHL goal and fellow Finnish rookie Joni Ortio picked up his first career victory as the Calgary Flames beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Wednesday night.

Paul Byron, Joe Colborne and Mike Cammalleri also scored for Calgary, and rookie Sean Monahan had two assists. Ortio, making his second start, finished with 30 saves to help the Flames win for the sixth time in their last seven home games.

Kyle Turris scored his 20th goal of the season for Ottawa, which has lost four of its last five.

Granlund scored 2:04 into the first period and Byron doubled the lead at 9:12 of the second. Monahan made it 3-0 about 8 minutes later.

Turris spoiled Ortio's shutout bid just past midway throught he third period.
