New York Giants cornerback Zack Bowman has been sent to a hospital to be evaluated for abdominal pain.

The Giants disclosed the injury on Thursday in announcing why Bowman was not at practice for Sunday's game against the Seahawks in Seattle.

Bowman was expected to be in the starting lineup. He took over for Prince Amukamara on Monday night when the cornerback was lost for the season with a torn biceps. The seven-year veteran has played in all eight games this year, making 10 tackles and one interception.

Injuries have severely hurt the Giants' depth at cornerback. Walter Thurmond III, Trumaine McBride and Amukamara have all been lost for the season. New York signed cornerbacks Mike Harris and Chykie Brown in the past two weeks.
