Former England midfielder Steven Gerrard says he is leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy after two seasons and is still considering what to do next.

The 36-year-old Gerrard had spent his entire club career at Liverpool before seeking a new challenge in Major League Soccer in 2015.

Gerrard, who never won the Premier League with Liverpool, leaves the Galaxy without lifting the MLS Cup.

Gerrard wrote on the Galaxy website : "I am now looking forward to spending time with my family as I consider the next stage of my career."

In 34 appearances for the Galaxy, Gerrard scored five goals with 14 assists.
