Edler has goal, assist and Bonino also scores to lead Canucks to 2-1 win over Oilers

Alexander Edler had a goal and an assist, Nick Bonino also scored, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in a preseason game Thursday night.

Bonino tied the score 11 minutes into the second period, taking a long pass from Bonino and beating Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth with a quick shot. The Canucks (4-2-0) took the lead with 5 minutes remaining in the period while the teams were playing 4-on-4 and Niklas Jensen passed to a wide-open Edler in the slot, and he sent a hard shot into the net.

Teddy Purcell had given Edmonton (4-3-0) the lead with 1:19 remaining in the opening period. Fasth finished with 21 saves.

Eddie Lack also stopped 21 shots for Vancouver in a feisty game that featured several fights.
