Draft: Packers have plenty of needs, including RB; could Alabama's Lacy be 1st-round pick?

Still among the NFL's elite, the Green Bay Packers have more positions than usual that could use an upgrade in the draft.

Perhaps they'll even buck tradition by taking a running back in the first round.

Alabama's Eddie Lacy is the only RB prospect projected to be worth Green Bay's first selection, the 26th overall pick, but he's a good one. The powerful Lacy has had injury problems and lacks top-level speed, but he rushed for 1,322 yards and 17 touchdowns for the national champion Crimson Tide last season.

The Packers haven't taken a running back in the first round since Darrell Thompson in 1990.

Safeties, defensive tackles and offensive tackles could also entice them in the early rounds. They have eight selections total.
