Dolphins clip Rams in preseason finale

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns to beat the St. Louis Rams 14-13 on Thursday night.
Miami was down 13-0 entering the fourth but got a 5-yard touchdown run from Daniel Thomas on fourth down and took the lead on Seth Lobato's 22-yard TD pass to Matt Hazel with 6:15 remaining.
The Dolphins concluded the preseason with a 3-1 record and will host AFC East rival New England to begin the regular season.

Austin Davis and Garrett Gilbert split the snaps at quarterback for St. Louis with Shaun Hill sitting out. Hill became the Rams' starter following the season-ending injury to Sam Bradford.
The former No. 1 overall draft pick retore the ACL in his left knee last Saturday.
Davis played the first two quarters and threw for 162 yards, including a touchdown pass to Austin Pettis.

The second half belonged to Gilbert, who passed for only 50 yards.
Rookie defensive end Michael Sam, the first openly gay active player in NFL history, recorded a team-high six tackles in his final bid to secure a spot on the Rams' roster.
The Rams finished the preseason at 1-3. They open the regular season at home against Minnesota.
