Dolphins agree to terms with P Fields

The Miami Dolphins agreed to terms with punter Brandon Fields on a four-year contract extension Saturday.

The Miami Herald reported the deal is worth $13.3 million with $3.3 million in guaranteed money, which makes him the fifth highest paid punter in the league.

Fields' agent, Ian Greengross, confirmed the deal on his Twitter account, stating "Congrats to Brandon Fields of the Dolphins on a 4 yr contract extension. Makes him the 5th highest paid punter in #NFL. Nice work - you earned it."

Miami drafted Fields in the seventh round of the 2007 draft and he has spent his entire five-year career with the Dolphins.

Last season he averaged 48.8 yards per punt, ranking him third in the NFL.
