The Los Angeles Dodgers put Yasiel Puig on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring, the same injury that sidelined him earlier in the season.

The outfielder injured himself in the ninth inning of Thursday's 1-0 win at Cincinnati. Puig had hit safely in his last 10 games before getting hurt. He was hitting .256 with 11 homers and 38 RBIs in 77 games.

Puig was on the DL from April 26-June 6 with a left hamstring strain.

The NL West-leading Dodgers on Friday recalled infielder Jose Peraza from Triple-A Oklahoma City before opening a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium.

Peraza made his major league debut on Aug. 10 and appeared in two games with the Dodgers after being acquired from Atlanta as part of an eight-player trade on July 30.

He has hit .293 with 33 stolen bases, four homers and 42 RBIs in 118 combined games with Atlanta's Triple-A Gwinett and Oklahoma City this season.
