Dilemma for K-State alum, TCU coach Patterson: trying to derail Wildcats' national title drive

TCU coach and Kansas State alumnus Gary Patterson faces quite a dilemma this week.
Patterson's first meeting against his alma mater comes Saturday with the third-ranked and undefeated Wildcats in the thick of the national championship chase.
Patterson started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Kansas State in 1982, part of the school's first-ever bowl team. That was after his two seasons there as a player, when he says he was known more for playing his guitar than anything he did on the field.

He says he loves seeing how far the Wildcats have come and that they are so close to playing for a national title. But he's trying to get the seventh win of the season for his Frogs, who became bowl eligible last week.
