Diamondbacks P Hudson suffers another UCL tear

The Arizona Diamondbacks announced Friday that pitcher Daniel Hudson suffered another tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

The new injury was suffered on June 4 in a start with Double-A Mobile, his first of the year.

Hudson tore the same UCL last June, and it was serious enough to end his season after going 3-2 with a 7.35 ERA in 45 1/3 innings over just nine starts.

Diamondbacks medical staff is currently exploring all medical options.

Hudson, a former fifth-round pick of the Chicago White Sox in 2008, has pitched to a 28-17 record and 3.68 ERA in 62 appearances (58 starts) for the ChiSox (2009-10) and D-Backs (2010-present). His best season in the majors was a 16-win campaign for Arizona two years ago.
