NEW YORK (Reuters) - Record-setting New Jersey Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur has been sidelined with a non-operable knee sprain, the team said Tuesday.
Brodeur, who holds the NHL record for wins by a goaltender (615), was injured during the first period of Sunday's 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens and is listed as day-to-day, the Devils said in a statement.
The 38-year-old is 13-19-2 this season for the Devils, who have the fourth-worst record in the 30-team league.
New Jersey's Johan Hedberg will start in goal for Tuesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
