Defending Big 12 champ K-State, neighbors just down road left at bottom of Big 12 barrel

Defending Big 12 champion Kansas State is winless in the conference. So is Kansas, its rival and neighbor just down the road.

Tough season to be a college football program in the Sunflower State.

The Wildcats dropped to 0-2 in the league on Saturday with a turnover- and penalty-filled flop against Oklahoma State, while the Jayhawks lost their Big 12 opener when Texas Tech at one point scored 54 unanswered points in another blowout defeat.

In fact, things were so bad at Memorial Stadium that it was nearly empty at the finish.
