NEW YORK (Reuters) - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been fined $100,000 for violating the NBA's anti-tampering rules over comments he made about Cleveland Cavaliers' LeBron James, the league said on Saturday.
After seven seasons with the Cavaliers, James becomes a free agent this summer with several teams expected to make major pitches to land the two-times league MVP.
Under NBA rules teams are forbidden from expressing interest in other teams' players until the free agency window opens on July 1.
