Colts' Walden suspended for head butt

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden has been suspended one game by the NFL for head-butting Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker in last week's encounter between the teams, the league office announced Monday.

Walden ripped the helmet off of Walker during an altercation in the second quarter of the Colts' 30-27 win over the Titans this past Thursday, then struck him with his head with while still wearing his own helmet. Walden received a personal foul penalty for the incident but was not ejected.

Unless the ban is overturned on an appeal, Walden will sit out Sunday's matchup with Arizona.

Signed by the Colts this past offseason following a three-year stint in Green Bay, Walden has started all 10 of Indianapolis' games in 2013 and recorded 28 tackles and two sacks.
