Chicago Bulls 2013 Draft Report Card

The Chicago Bulls went for shooting in the NBA Draft.

They took Tony Snell from New Mexico and Erik Murphy from Florida and both are good from long distance.

Murphy was a great pick in the second round. He's 6-foot-10 and will stretch the defense in a way no Chicago big man can possibly do.

Snell was a curious pick. There were substantially better shooters available when the Bulls plucked Snell at No. 20. Players like Allen Crabbe and Reggie Bullock might have made more sense.

But give the Bulls credit, they needed help shooting 3-pointers, and tried to address it. While they might not have taken the best possible personnel to improve quickly, they at least went after a need.

Jimmy Butler will be the starting two guard. He was a revelation at times during this season, but especially during the playoffs. He will be in his second year, so insurance policies are wise.
