Philip Rivers has turned down his second free trip to Hawaii in two years.

The Chargers' star quarterback declined a Pro Bowl invitation on Monday, citing personal reasons. He was a fourth alternate and would've joined cornerback Jason Verrett at the game.

Via U-T San Diego's Michael Gehlken:

Rivers might use the vacation from his vacation to get some sleep. He and his wife Tiffany welcomed their eighth child in October. He has no idea if he'll need to relocate them to Los Angeles, either.

Playing in sun -soaked San Diego must've helped his choice. Plenty of blizzard-battered football fans would love to accept his expense-free trip to Honolulu this week.
