Stephen Hill had an absolutely brutal week, to say the least. After being cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, Hill was ready to let his play at training camp overshadow the off-field issue.

Then came the on-field blow for Hill.

According to Adam Wells of Bleacher Report, Hill suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer followed up that report with the following tweet.

If Hill clears through waivers as a "waived/injured" player, then he'll be either automatically placed on the IR for the Carolina Panthers, or he'll negotiate an injury settlement. With all of this being put aside, you have to feel quite a bit for Hill.

While the former New York Jet did get into some trouble off the field, he was poised to make a push as the fourth or fifth receiver for the Panthers in 2015.

Hill's only 24 currently, so he still has plenty of football left in him. We're wishing him the best in a speedy recovery.
