Canadiens to buy out Kaberle

The Montreal Canadiens will reportedly use their second and final compliance buyout on veteran defenseman Tomas Kaberle.

According to TSN of Canada, the Canadiens notified Kaberle of their intentions on Sunday.

Montreal made a notable splash back in January when it used its first of two CBA-mandated buyouts on disappointing center Scott Gomez -- who later signed with the San Jose Sharks.

The 35-year-old blueliner is set to make $4.5 million in salary with a cap hit of $4.25 million next season.

Kaberle totaled just three assists in 10 appearances for the Habs during the truncated 2013 campaign.
