Former Arsenal and England defender Sol Campbell announced his retirement on Wednesday.
Campbell has been without a club since he was released by Newcastle at the end of last season and has decided to call time on his career.
The 37-year-old represented England in six major tournaments from 1996-2006, while his club career featured stops at Tottenham, and most notably, Arsenal, where captured two Premier League titles and won three FA Cups.

"It's not easy for me to say it's all over, that's why I've been putting it off for a long time," Campbell told Sky Sports News. "I had a couple of offers to carry on - one from a Premier League team and another from a team who had just been promoted to the Premier League - but I had a foot injury and by the time I'd recovered from that people had already moved on.
"To say that I am not going to play professional football again is difficult because I've had a long time at the top and I've put in a lot of work and it's taken a lot of dedication."
After spending nine years with Tottenham, Campbell made the switch to Arsenal in 2001 before moving to Portsmouth following the 2006 Champions League final with the Gunners.

A brief spell with Notts County followed before he surprisingly returned to Arsenal for a short stay. Campbell then finished up his career by featuring seven times for Newcastle in league play.
