CALGARY - The Calgary Flames acquired forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond from the New Jersey Devils for a 2012 fifth-round draft pick Thursday.
Letourneau-Leblond, 26, had 13 points and 334 penalty minutes with New Jersey's AHL affiliate in Albany, N.Y., last season. The six-foot-two, 220-pound native of Levis, Que., has appeared in 37 career NHL games since being selected in the seventh round of the '04 NHL entry draft by New Jersey.
“Pierre-Luc is a hard-hitting, physical player who tends to get under the skin of the opposition,” Flames GM Jay Feaster said in a statement. "The way he plays the game causes other players to be aware of his presence and he is willing to defend himself and stand up for his teammates as well.
