Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson backpedals a day after questioning coach Gailey

Receiver Stevie Johnson and the Buffalo Bills' offense suddenly have one thing in common. Both are moving in reverse.

Johnson on Monday backpedaled away from comments he made a day earlier, when he questioned coach Chan Gailey's play calling following a 20-13 loss at Indianapolis. Johnson now says he misspoke.

Rather than suggesting Ryan Fitzpatrick should take over more of the play-calling duties, Johnson meant to say the quarterback should have more opportunities to change plays at the line of scrimmage.

Johnson said he spoke out in frustration following a loss that all but mathematically ended the Bills' playoff chances.

Buffalo (4-7) has lost four of five, and hosts Jacksonville (2-9) on Sunday.

Johnson did get one thing right. Something has to change on an offense that lacks finish.
