Buffalo Bills WR Stevie Johnson backpedals a day after questioning coach Gailey
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Receiver Stevie Johnson and the Buffalo Bills' offense suddenly have one thing in common. Both are moving in reverse.
Johnson on Monday backpedaled away from comments he made a day earlier, when he questioned coach Chan Gailey's play calling following a 20-13 loss at Indianapolis. Johnson now says he misspoke.
Rather than suggesting Ryan Fitzpatrick should take over more of the play-calling duties, Johnson meant to say the quarterback should have more opportunities to change plays at the line of scrimmage.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}Johnson said he spoke out in frustration following a loss that all but mathematically ended the Bills' playoff chances.
Buffalo (4-7) has lost four of five, and hosts Jacksonville (2-9) on Sunday.
Johnson did get one thing right. Something has to change on an offense that lacks finish.
