Brian Roberts, Anthony Davis pace Pelicans to 94-92 preseason win over Mavericks

Reserve guard Brian Roberts scored all 17 of his points in the fourth quarter, including the winning jumper with 21.7 seconds to play, and the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Dallas Mavericks 94-92 in a preseason game Monday night.

Anthony Davis paced New Orleans (2-0) with 25 points and seven rebounds.

Brandan Wright led Dallas (0-1) with 14 points while Monta Ellis scored 13 and Jae Crowder 10.

With the Mavericks missing injured point guards Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin and Devin Harris, 25-year-old rookie Gal Mekel was given a start. The native of Israel played 19 minutes, scoring two points with five assists and five rebounds.

Foul trouble limited Samuel Dalembert, Dallas' new center, to four points and two rebounds in 11 minutes.
