Brewers' Weeks has surgery

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks underwent successful surgery on his left hamstring on Thursday.

The surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews. Rehabilitation is expected to take 4-6 months.

Weeks was placed on the 15-day disabled list last Thursday. He suffered the injury the day before while running to first base.

The 30-year-old ended the season with a .209 batting average, 10 home runs, 24 RBI and seven stolen bases in 104 games.
