BOSTON (Reuters) - After days of dodging questions about a contract extension, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said Saturday he was happy the four-year deal was sealed so he could focus on the start of a new NFL season.
"My team mates, both past and present, are the main reason why we have accomplished so much over the years. I love playing in New England and appreciate all the support that our fans give us."
Brady, who is set to earn $6.5 million this season in the final year of his current deal, reached a four-year contract extension earlier this week that will keep the five-time Pro Bowler with the Patriots through the 2014 season.
