Body of John Arum, son of boxing promoter Bob Arum, recovered from Washington peak

The National Park Service says the body of boxing promoter Bob Arum's son has been recovered in North Cascades National Park.

Park spokeswoman Kelly Bush says 49-year-old John Arum's body was recovered Wednesday by a Snohomish County sheriff's office helicopter.

Arum, a Seattle environmental lawyer and avid mountain climber, planned a solo climb of 8,500-foot Storm King Mountain on Aug. 28. A search began Aug. 30 after he failed to return from the peak about 85 miles northeast of Seattle. After a five-day search, his body was spotted from the air at about the 7,700-foot level of the mountain's north face. A park spokeswoman said it appeared the experienced mountain climber had fallen.

Bush says poor weather and the difficult terrain delayed recovery operations.
