The Toronto Blue Jays placed designated hitter Adam Lind on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a mid-back strain and recalled first baseman David Cooper from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Lind had been held out of Toronto's last three games with tightness in his back, making the move retroactive to July 26.
The 29-year-old, who spent more than a month at Triple-A after a sluggish start to the season, has hit .227 with eight home runs and 27 RBI over 58 games for the Blue Jays this year.
