The Toronto Blue Jays' infield and lineup took a hit when Troy Tulowitzki exited Saturday's game with a fractured shoulder blade.

To help add some depth and insurance, the Blue Jays traded for Darwin Barney of the Los Angeles Dodgers for cash or a player to be named later.

As noted in the tweet above, since this trade came after August 31, Barney will not be eligible for playoffs.

The Jays hope to have Tulo back in two to three weeks. If there are no setbacks, timing should work out to have their All-Star shortstop back in early October.
