Bills sign TE Moeaki

Orchard Park, NY (SportsNetwork.com) The Buffalo Bills signed former Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Moeaki on Wednesday.

Moeaki, 26, had spent his entire career with the Chiefs after Kansas City used a third round draft pick on him in 2010. The promising young tight end made 47 catches for 556 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie year, but a knee injury derailed his second season.

He came back and had 453 yards and a score in 2012 before suffering a shoulder fracture this preseason, which ultimately led to his release in KC. Moeaki joins college teammate and fellow tight end Scott Chandler in Buffalo.

"It helps to have a friend on the team at the same position," said Moeaki. "I'm happy to be here. This all happened pretty quickly.

The Bills released running back Tashard Choice to make room for him on the roster.
