Bengals Pro Bowl linebacker Vontaze Burfict has signed a three-year contract extension through 2017 that will pay him a maximum of $20.05 million.

Burfict agreed to the deal last week. He was entering the final year on his deal. Under his extension, he'll make $10 million through next summer in salary and bonuses.

Burfict is expected to sit out the Bengals' final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night at Paul Brown Stadium. He pulled his right hamstring on Sunday against Arizona.

The linebacker's extension was the last contract deal the Bengals wanted to complete before the start of the season.
