MUNICH --

Bayern Munich will talk with coach Pep Guardiola about his future during the Bundesliga's winter break, club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says.

Guardiola has remained coy about his plans despite his contract with Bayern expiring at the end of the season. The club would like to extend his stay.

Rummenigge says, ''We'll have the talk after the opening half of the season. Then there will be a decision, and we will make it known either way - no matter what comes out of the talk.''

Guardiola led Bayern to back-to-back league titles after taking over Jupp Heynckes' treble-winning side in 2013, and has put the team on course for another after recording a Bundesliga-record start this season.

Bayern's last game before the winter break is on Dec. 19 in Hannover.
