Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Brad Stuart has yet to play a regular-season game for the Colorado Avalanche, but that didn't deter the club from signing the veteran defenseman to a two-year contract extension on Monday.
The Avalanche also extended the contract of forward Cody McLeod for three years.
Both players are entering the final seasons of their current deals.

The Avalanche acquired Stuart in a trade with San Jose on July 1 for a pair of draft picks.
Stuart, 34, has totaled 77 goals and 245 assists in 985 career games with the Sharks, Boston, Calgary, Los Angeles and Detroit. He won a Stanley Cup with the Red Wings in 2008.
McLeod has spent his entire career with the Avalanche, supplying grit and energy and occasional offense as a bottom-six winger. The 30-year-old has totaled 50 goals and 41 assists in 467 career games. His 978 penalty minutes are the most in Avalanche history and sixth-most dating back to the franchise's days in Quebec.
