David Ash passed for two touchdowns and also threw two interceptions as Texas unveiled a quicker up-tempo offense Saturday night in its annual spring scrimmage.
Coach Mack Brown stressed at the start of spring drills he wants to push a faster pace on offense, noting the success of other programs around the country doing it.
Two of Ash's first four drives against the No. 2 defense included touchdown passes to Mike Davis and Kendall Sanders. Ash threw his two interceptions when the Texas sprinkled several starters into the defense against the first-time offense.

Texas also got its first look at freshman quarterback Tyrone Swoopes, who had two strong runs after breaking tackles in the backfield.
Texas went 9-4 last season and tied for third in the Big 12.
