Arkansas scoring leader Young follows Powell in declaring for NBA draft

Arkansas coach Mike Anderson says scoring leader BJ Young is entering the NBA draft.

Young, who averaged 15.2 points as a sophomore this season, is the second Razorbacks player to declare for the draft this week — following junior forward Marshawn Powell's announcement.

The 6-foot-3 guard led Arkansas in scoring in each of the last two seasons, finishing fifth in the Southeastern Conference this season.

Anderson says in a statement that he met with Young and his father Thursday. It wasn't immediately clear if Young had hired an agent, though a school spokesman said he doesn't "believe (Young) has plans to return."

Arkansas was 19-13 this season, missing the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight season.
